Welcome to the Niagara River Anglers on the Web! |

For New Members and Visitors
The
Niagara River Anglers Association was formed in 1982 by a handful of fishermen
that believed the Niagara River needed some drastic attention like cleaner
waters, better access, more fish stocking, youth and adult education, and better
recreational opportunities along with a better understanding of our surrounding
environment. Our first organizational meeting of
members was attended by more than 100 interested fishermen over 23 years ago. Today,
we sport a membership of nearly 900 members and want to grow more. As a group we have accomplished many
of the things we started out to do and now maintain the things accomplished.
Such as, our walleye rearing facilities and our salmon pen rearing release
program. Members also have the exclusive use of a 62 acre Wilderness Preserve.
You will find out about these things on our website. As always, we are proud of our
accomplishments and progress when it comes to community involvement and
education concerning outdoor related activities and fishing activities. Our Youth involvement and doing things
for our youngsters today in our Association and our community is second to none.
Each year we sponsor four children to attend one week at The New York State
Department of Environmental Conservation Youth Camp. [See
"Youth Activities"] Free transportation to and
from and all fees are paid for the children. We built a portable 12x24 ft. pond
that is set up at various outdoor shows to introduce youth and adults to the
thrill of catching a fish. Our Membership is open to anyone
interested in our aims and goals. Please continue through our site
for more in-depth information about us and you will see why our members are so
proud of what we do as a group.
