Outhouse Pictures Summer 2006      Pictures and review by Mark Daul August 2006

The small pavilion has a new concrete floor. [See picture section below] The concrete for the new Outhouse/Privy was poured the same day. The Privy is all brand new and built with Niagara River Anglers funds mostly all from revenue generated with key sales that users of the preserve pay for.

The privy is guaranteed not to stink according to the committee that built it. It is extremely well ventilated and well lit inside with opaque panels in the roof. [see picture below] There is lots of room on the ladies side as well as the men's side. We hope the users  will keep it clean as we have no janitors to do that for you. If you let your kids play around in there they could have an accident and come out stinking like the inside plop! The men's side has a nice new seat like the ladies do and will have a new urinal installed shortly. If you think you need  a handicap facility or a diaper changing station, you volunteer, you buy the stuff, and you build it. Remember this whole Preserve area is a primitive type facility with no running water nor electric nor garbage pickup. This is a far cry better than those hot, stinky portable units we have been using for the last five years.

The doors have springs on the so they will close but you are asked to pull the door and shut tight so no unwanted critters start sleeping in there. One more thing, you are not guaranteed to have toilet paper in there all the time. That will be left up to the users to bring their own and maybe leave a roll now and then.

It was built all by our volunteers [see sign below] and they are all quite proud of it for you. Please take pride in it too.
