On the left our portable fishing pond is being set up by member volunteers at the Niagara County Fair. In the center is a sign directing fairgoers to the pond tent. Children of all ages get a chance to catch a fish and most of them for the first time and the picture on the right is an example!

SALMON PEN-REARING
Our "Baby" salmon in bucket being tenderly examined by a volunteer. Other pictures showing salmon rearing pens being moved.  Notice the volunteers it takes to do this. The pens in the picture on the right are in the water at the dock in Youngstown NY.  The pens are held afloat by plastic pipe collars with the ends sealed to hold air. You can see them in the pictures. Salmon are held in these pens long enough to imprint them to the waters of the Niagara River, assuring returning fish for spawning time.
See story on Salmon Pen-Rearing page
